CO-OP RPG

Unreal Engine 4 | PC

To learn Unreal Engine 4 I have been designing and developing a top down co-op action RPG.

Through out development so far I have worked on character controllers, AI, UI, combat and ability systems, steam multiplayer and much more.

Geo Realms

Unity | Android

Geo Realms was a personal project and challenge to learn how games like Pokemon Go function.

The app features location based tracking, points of interests based off of public areas and buildings like parks, schools and public facilities. There is also a real life proximity interaction zone and tracks how far the player has moved. The app uses real world environment data to spawn trees in parks and wooded areas and uses also contains a day-night cycle accompanied by appropriate UI to make it easier on your eye's no matter what time of day it is.

Match 3 Kings

Unity | Android

Match 3 Kings is a competitive match 3 game where there is only one level. The goal of the game is to get as high of a score as possible within the given 90 seconds.

This was my first attempt at a mobile app, so I learned a lot from making it. I learned how to set UI up to properly fit and scale with different phone resolutions, along with how touch inputs work.

The monetization strategy for the game was to only use optional video ads that players to use to gain extra time or earn a random amount of coins with.

Due to the fast paced nature of the game, I often found that you went off of colours rather then icons, so I created colour blind modes to keep the game accessible and fair to all.

ReCoil

Unity | PC

Run and gun your way through the city to end the tyranny of Giovanni. Music has been banned, so you decided to join a rag tag group of music lovers to fight back and get back what you love.

ReCoil is a fast paced FPS where you use the recoil of your gun to traverse across the levels while avoiding hazards.

I designed and created the tutorial level. Along with designing I was also the programmer for the game, building off of the base FPS system we were provided. This included a dialogue system, collectables, animated planes, camera & glass destruction, level loading and UI.

I also designed and implemented the menu system.

The Perilous Climb

Unity | PC

Climb out of the mine shaft by bouncing off of enemies before you caught by the ever rising hazard.

The Perilous Climb is a 2.5D platformer where the player has to climb out of a mineshaft while being chased by a rising hazard.

My job was to take the base 2.5D Platformer system that we were provided as a base and turn into what would be The Perilous Climb. To do this I had to create a health system along with a damage system so when the player touched a hazard is would damage the player, but also shoot them backup to give them a chance to start out running the rising hazard again. I also designed the enemy pathing system where they would move back and forth between two defined points and also making it that when you jumped on a enemies head it would bounce the player upwards without taking damage, but still damage the player if they hit the enemy from any other side.

One of the more challenging parts of this project was getting the movement and jumping to feel just right. Which took a lot of tweaking values and colliders to get it to be just what we were looking for.

I also created the end of level transition, menu and level selection along with the level progress tracker.
